By speedboat
The only getaway to Perhentian Island is through Kuala Besut jetty. It only takes around 30 to 45 minutes of journey by speedboat.
By car
Traveller from Kuala Lumpur can use two different route via Kuala Terengganu – Kuala besut or via Gua Musang – Kuala Besut.
Singaporean or traveller from south can choose route via Mersing – Kuala Besut or Segamat (Tun Razak Highway) – Kuala Besut. If you come from Thailand, choose the route via Sg, Golok – kota Bharu – Kuala besut as it only 80km of journey.

By bus
From Kuala Lumpur, take a bus from Bandar Tasik Selatan Terminal to Jerteh. The price of the bus is around MYR44*. Then, take a taxi or bus and headed to Kuala Besut jetty approximately 15km away.
Traveller from Singapore have to take a bus to Kota Bharu at The plaza station. Ticket can be purchased at SGD38*. Inform the driver to dropped off at Jerteh town. Then, take a taxi to Kuala besut.
By air
From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, fly directly to Kota Bharu or Kuala Terengganu Airport by Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia. You also can depart from Subang Airport with Firefly or Malindo Air. If you are from Singapore, you can only fly with Malaysia Airline After arrive in Kuala Terengganu, take a cab or public bus to Kuala Besut jetty. Distance from Kota Bharu to Kuala Besut jetty is approximately 60km while from Kuala Terengganu airport is 100 km away.
